5/20/2008 Hello Everyone,I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself. My family and I spent many years in different parts of Germany, which we loved and will always remember. After that we moved on to different parts in the USA. Our favorite place in the states has always been Alaska. The scenery is breathtaking, the wildlife is amazing, and there is just so much to do for everyone. I remember when the moose' used to always come right on our doorstep. At times, when we went sledding, we had to watch out because people used to mess with the moose', and so, some of them would get pretty aggressive towards humans (especially the females when they had their young ones around). Sometimes we got to see some black bears, too. So that was pretty cool! Alaska has just endless opportunities for the adventurer!
My husband retired from the military several years ago. We have three wonderful sons who are all grown by now. Though, there are many times when I sit back in my chair, reflecting on past times. I must say, I surely miss the moments when the kids were so little and so cuddly, and all the fun & carefree times we used to have together. Just then, every time right before it gets too cozy in "dreamland," reality kicks in. I think about having all 3 in diapers again, no car, little money and while shopping on base, pushing 2 of their shopping carts back home all the way across base with three little kids (hanging on & around me). My husband was attending school for the entire year so he wasn't around much during the day. Well, this is something you have to deal with when you are a military wife. Roll with it or get out! Tough life at times for all involved, but if you stick it out, try your best to be positive, stay busy because you're more likely to make it through! You can't always give up every time it gets a little rough in life. Do it for your children, brothers, sisters, parents, friends, and yourself. Be strong, stay positive, and be good to yourself as well as to others!
I have loved children all my life, and I couldn't be without them! I guess that's why I feel so lucky now to have 7 beautiful grandchildren.
And believe it or not those little rascals always end up in my car again, no matter how fast I try to escape in my get-a-away car.
Well, in my past, I owned my own business in Maryland, but then the military transferred us so I had to close down the shop. During the years I also taught ESOL classes, and foreign language (private sector), I also worked at the military medical clinics, and inside the hospital with the terminally ill patients. Then, I went to PJC for a degree in Graphic Design. After that I opened my own business here in Pensacola, however, my husband and I decided to go another route for now, so we hit the commercial industry in which I am the office manager. However, we are always on the lookout!
